Wedding of the Year

Every couple who marries at Abel Estate is eligible to enter our Wedding of the Year Competition by completing our feedback form after the big day.

The grand prize is two free nights for two, valued at $1,900, at the stunning Top House Lodge in Russell, Bay of Islands.

Winners are selected by Zahn Trotter, director of Smoke Event Photography, and Fable, publishers of Auckland Weddings website.  The site will feature finalists’ weddings in its real weddings section. The overall winners, announced each December, will be chosen from those couples who appeared.

This event, which runs from November to October, is a fun way for us to say thank you to the wonderful brides and grooms who’ve chosen the venue over the year and given us their feedback and images.

Your private viewing lasts up to an hour and is hosted by one of our experienced wedding consultants. You'll have time to see the venue properly, ask detailed questions, and understand the options and pricing. We don't run several show-arounds at once, so the appointment is focused entirely on you.
