Abel Estate is a much-loved venue for smaller weddings of fewer than 50 guests where couples want the spacious feel of an historical vineyard with a lake view. By the way the spaces are designed and managed – the rotunda ceremony area, the marquee and the Winery Room – you won’t feel like you’re rattling around in a venue meant for hundreds.
Get A Better Date
We use minimum spend rather than required guest numbers as the criteria for booking popular dates. By paying for upgrades and extra hire items, you have the opportunity to meet the criteria for your desired date despite a shorter guest list.
Go Big On Upgrades
With a smaller number of guests, you have the chance to go big on upgrades and extras to create an even more memorable day. These include selecting our premium menu and extras such as the Vineyard Suite, photo booth or oyster bar.
Indoor Ceremony Option
If a marquee isn’t your style for a rainy-day wedding, having a shorter guests list will enable you to use the dancefloor as your indoor option. The space can accommodate as many as 30 to 40 guests, more if some people stand.
The venue aesthetic not only enhanced the overall ambiance but also added a warm and elegant touch that our guests couldn’t stop raving about.
The food was all so tasty, and there was more than enough! We got the oyster bar, and they were the best oysters we have all ever eaten.

Just 12 minutes from Abel Estate along quiet country roads, Chapman House offers a peaceful haven for couples, families, or the bridal party to relax and prepare in comfort. With space for up to 10 guests, it’s ideal for shared breakfasts, quiet moments together, or simply taking in the views before and after your wedding day.
Bookings are made directly through the property’s website on a first-come basis, where you’ll always receive the best available rate — at least 10% lower than Airbnb, Booking.com and similar sites.
Located at 1010 Scenic Drive North, Swanson, Chapman House features a modern kitchen, stylish bedrooms and bathrooms, and generous living areas that flow onto a large deck overlooking the city and surrounding native bush — a serene setting to begin and end your wedding weekend.
We chose Abel Estate for its landscaping, location and bright white features. We wanted a venue that felt light & modern and Abel Estate ticks both of those boxes.
It was everything I pictured and hoped for. All our guests were amazed and loved it too. Our wedding pictures look incredible and it was so great to have so many spots to shoot from.
