Fabulous Photo Spots
There’s no need to leave Abel Estate after your ceremony as there are at least a dozen photo spots for you to choose from. Due to the variety of the terrain, you can be lakeside, between the vines, over the stream or next to the rotunda. You’re genuinely spoiled for choice, and your photographer will love having so many options.
The Rotunda
The centre-piece of the wedding is also a great backdrop after the ceremony has finished for the couple and wedding party.
The Jetty
Get views of the lake in the background from the jetty near the ceremony area. Beautiful, romantic shots.
Between The Vines
As you’re at an historic vineyard, what better place to have your photo taken than amongst the vines?
Beside The Lake
Similar to the jetty, but a wider shot, often from a low angle. This has become a favourite over the years.
Under The Trees
Giant poplars give plenty of shade on a hot summer’s day, so this is excellent for group shots in particular.
The Bridge
Many couples fall in love with this location, with images shot close, or from a distance to show the stream below.
The Verandah
With plenty of greenery, and even a glimpse of the lake in the background, this gives an outdoor feel on wet days.
The Swing Seat
Located near the trees, the swing seat lets you take the load off your feet while you have your picture taken.
Beside Wildflowers
Depending on the time of year, the wildflowers on the far side of the stream can add a splash of colour.
The Garden Seat
On the opposite side of the stream, the garden seat with a hedge behind offers a second seated area for photos.
The Bridal Steps
The bridal path steps offer plenty of photo options where you can adjust for the different heights of the couple.
The Rotunda At Night
Stunning shots, with the starkness of the Rotunda at night. It has its own lighting, or your photographer can add their own.
We could do everything in one location and didn’t have to move off-site. There were so many different places to take photos we didn’t even get the chance to use half of them.
Abel is a classic and modern garden venue with an iconic lake background in the heart of Kumeu. The outdoor setting is outstanding with such diversity, which was great for photos.
